India and Sri Lanka share dramatic tie

India (236/9) tied against Sri Lanka in the 5th One Day International of the Commonwealth Bank Series at Adelaide Oval a short while ago. Gautam Gambhir top scored with 91.

Dinesh Chandimal and Mahela Jayawardene helped Sri Lanka post a competitive total of 236-9 off their 50 overs.

The pair put on 94 for the fourth wicket with Chandimal topscoring for the Sri Lankans with 81.

India needed four runs off the final two balls to win - and Vinay Kumar was run out attempting a single on the penultimate delivery.

Captain MS Dhoni, who ended on 55no with Gautam Gambhir topscoring with 91, crashed the final ball from Lasith Malinga towards the boundary; a spectacular save from the fielder prevented the win, but the bastmen managed three runs.
